This petite Victorian Revival brooch features a raised white portrait cameo against a glossy black background, framed by curling gold tone openwork. Eight clear rhinestones surround the center, while a tiny ninth stone adds a little sparkle at the lady's neckline.
The cameo appears molded rather than hand carved; its exact material has not been confirmed. The construction and styling suggest a circa 1950s date, offered as an estimate. There are no maker's marks, and the maker and country of manufacture are unknown.
