VINTAGE Sterling Silver Nameplate Artifact G Baker Engraved Ornate Scrollwork Collectible Restoration Supply

A little silver, a familiar name, and a story that deserves another chapter.

This ornate sterling silver nameplate is engraved G. Baker for George Baker, husband of Emma, the Auntie Nen behind Auntie Nen's Stuff. George worked as a driller for Gulf Oil and traveled internationally for his work. This piece comes from our family possessions, although the personal accessory it originally decorated is no longer known.

Perhaps it adorned a wallet, grooming accessory, or small case. Two folded mounting tabs remain on the reverse. Whatever its original home, someone took the trouble to personalize it with his name.

Decorative faces and curling scrollwork frame the engraved center. It is a small surviving artifact to enjoy in a collection, use in a suitable restoration, or incorporate into a new accessory or creative project. Keeping the engraving preserves its story; giving it a new purpose offers another way for it to live on.
