VINTAGE Pyrex Flameware Glass Double Boiler 2 Piece Cookware Set Clear Handles Made in USA

A wonderful piece of vintage Pyrex that is still completely at home in a working kitchen! This two-piece Flameware double boiler set includes the lower saucepan and upper double boiler insert, both made of clear heat-resistant glass with stainless steel handle bands and distinctive clear glass handles.

Pyrex Flameware was designed as true stovetop cookware, allowing cooks to see exactly what was happening inside the pan. The double boiler was particularly well suited to gentle cooking tasks where direct heat can be a problem.

Use it for melting chocolate, preparing custards and delicate sauces, warming ingredients, or any recipe calling for gentle indirect heat. The upper pan nests neatly into the lower pan, allowing steam from heated water below to provide controlled heat to the food above.

Both pieces retain their stainless steel handle assemblies and distinctive clear glass handles. An especially clever feature of this earlier Flameware design is the bail-style fastening system used on the stainless steel handle bands. The bands can be released and removed from the glass cookware for thorough cleaning underneath without having to remove screws.

The Pyrex Flameware logo is stamped into the metal handle hardware, and the glass is marked PYREX / MADE IN U.S.A.

This listing includes the two glass cookware pieces shown in the photographs. The original lid is not included. A lid is not required for most traditional double-boiler cooking methods, making this a very functional vintage set just as it sits.

The set is in good vintage condition with evidence of previous kitchen use, including light surface marks, scratches, and some wear to the stainless steel hardware. There are no obvious chips or cracks visible in the photographs. Please review all photographs carefully for condition and details.
