Vintage Wear-Ever aluminum double boiler, No. 2431 1/2, complete with lower saucepan, double boiler insert and fitted lid. Made in the USA.
Simple, sturdy and wonderfully practical, this is the kind of everyday cookware that earned Wear-Ever a place in American kitchens for generations. The two pans have long metal handles, and the domed aluminum lid is finished with its original black WEAR-EVER knob.
Before chocolate sauce, pudding, custard, cheese sauce and hollandaise came ready-made in jars, boxes and packets, Grandma made them herself—and a double boiler like this kept delicate ingredients warm without scorching them.
The set is in good vintage used condition with the expected scratches, scuffs and signs of use to the aluminum. There is some cooking discoloration and residue visible inside the lower pan, particularly around the bottom edge. Please review the photos closely for condition.
Measures approximately 8 inches high assembled and 14 inches overall from the end of the handle to the opposite side of the pan.
