The Salad Chef is one of those wonderfully inventive mid-century kitchen tools that makes you wonder why they ever disappeared. Built almost entirely of cast metal with a sturdy tripod stand, it slices, shreds, and grates vegetables quickly with nothing more than a turn of the handle.

This vintage Salad Chef has been thoroughly cleaned and is ready for its next kitchen.

Bonus meat grinder attachment:
This unit includes a meat grinder attachment that was acquired with the Salad Chef. While it appears to fit the stand, the retaining collar does not tighten as securely as the slicer/shredder attachment. Because of that, and because I have not tested the grinder function, I am including it as an untested bonus rather than representing it as a fully functional accessory.

The painted stand retains its bright original finish, the chrome and aluminum components present beautifully, and the mechanism turns smoothly by hand. Light signs of normal vintage use are present, but overall this is an exceptionally attractive example that's ready for display or use.
