This striking Universal Electric Coffee Urn Percolator, Model E8169, was made by Landers, Frary & Clark of New Britain, Connecticut — one of the earliest innovators in American household electrics.
Dating to the 1910s–1920s, this urn showcases elegant Art Deco proportions and exceptional craftsmanship. The silver-plated body gleams with fresh polish, accented by dark hardwood handles and tap knob (likely ebony), and a clear glass dome lid for watching the brew in progress.
Inside, the original “UNIVERSAL” stamped basket and stem assembly remain intact and clean, and the underside bears a full roster of early U.S. and international patent marks. The power cord is period-correct, fully functional, and in excellent condition with a braided cloth wrap and spring strain relief.
Condition:
Beautifully preserved and polished to a mirror finish. No major dents, plating loss, or corrosion. Light surface wear consistent with age and use.
