As the mid century marched through the 1950's into the 60's, design aesthetics morphed from finite shapes like boomerangs, saucers, and rockets to more amorphous shapes like blobs and puddles. This planter, in a glistening onyx glaze, is a prime example of that era. It has one corner and one round edge, and seems to change shape with each change of perspective.
It's in excellent shape with no chips or cracks, and some crazing that's difficult to see due to the dark color. There are a coupe of kiln bubbles in the glaze that I've attempted to show in the photos.
It's 7-1/2" long in the longest direction and about 5-1/2" across at the deep end, and about 4-1/2" tall. Ships free in the US- gift wrap available to delight your favorite mid-century modern collector!
