VINTAGE McCoy Classic Line Small Pedestal Planter

VINTAGE McCoy Classic Line Small Pedestal Planter – Antique Gold – Made in USA

A wonderful little piece of vintage McCoy pottery with a distinctly classical personality.

This small pedestal planter is from McCoy's Classic Line and takes its inspiration straight from ancient Greek and Roman forms. A broad, shallow bowl rests atop a beautifully fluted pedestal base, while antique-gold decoration accents the relief and gives the piece the appearance of something considerably older than it really is.

It's an especially appealing example of the way mid-century designers borrowed freely from the past—taking a classical form, simplifying it, and turning it into something perfectly at home in a modern American interior.

📏 APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS

• 3-1/2" tall
• 5" diameter across the top

Its smaller size makes it wonderfully versatile. Use it as originally intended for a small plant or succulent, or let it serve as a decorative pedestal dish for jewelry, wrapped candies or other little treasures. It's also handsome enough to simply sit on a shelf among a collection of vintage McCoy or American art pottery.

✨ CONDITION

🏛️ AUNTIE NEN'S NOTE

There's something delightfully grand about this little planter.

At only about 3-1/2 inches tall, it isn't exactly the Parthenon—but between the fluted pedestal, classical proportions and antique-gold decoration, McCoy certainly managed to squeeze a surprising amount of Ancient Greece into five inches of pottery.

A charming piece for a McCoy collection, a traditional or eclectic interior, or anyone who appreciates vintage American pottery with a little architectural flair.
