MCM Hazel Atlas Platonite Creamer and Open Sugar Bowl. Jade Green.

VINTAGE Hazel Atlas Platonite Creamer & Open Sugar Bowl – Jade Green – MCM

This adorable vintage Hazel Atlas creamer and open sugar bowl set is made of Platonite glass with a wonderfully rich jade green finish.

And these two have personality.

At approximately 4 inches tall, they're taller and narrower than the typical porcelain cream-and-sugar set. The proportions give them an almost cartoonish stance—as though the sassy little creamer and belligerent sugar bowl have been placed on the breakfast table in the middle of a heated discussion.

Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

Hazel Atlas developed Platonite as an opaque white glass that could be decorated in a variety of colors, giving the company a way to bring bold color to the American table using glass rather than traditional pottery.

By the mid-century period, colorful glassware like this was right at home alongside the brightly colored ceramics and dinnerware filling American kitchens and breakfast rooms.

🍵 AUNTIE NEN'S NOTE

There's something wonderfully cheerful about mid-century tableware that wasn't afraid of color.

These aren't delicate little porcelain pieces waiting politely beside the coffee pot. They're chunky, bright and just slightly ridiculous—and that's precisely what makes them so much fun.

Whether you actually use them for cream and sugar or simply let them continue their argument on a kitchen shelf, they're a terrific little dose of genuine mid-century personality.

Sold as a set of two.
