📜 Family History & Shanghai Connection
This note comes from a group brought home from Shanghai by my father during his military service. By that time, years of war, political change, and currency reforms had rendered many older notes obsolete, and soldiers often kept them as souvenirs. According to family tradition, he was told the notes were no longer needed and could even be used as Christmas tree decorations. Some examples from this group retained traces of tape from those holiday displays, carefully removed over the years to preserve the paper and its history.
